Do not You Turn Your Back on Me (English for. " Turn me not back on ") is a song by German rock band Guano Apes and was published on 8 March 1999 as a single. It is not included on any Guano Apes album. Additional songs on the single are "Don't You Turn Your Back On Me" as a frozen mix, string version, Prince PAL club mix and Move A Little Closer . It was also released as a 3 ″ track standard maxi.
Don't You Turn Your Back on Me is the theme song for the film Meschugge with Dani Levy and Maria Schrader . The CD was released as a CD-Extra for Mac & PC and contained a. the video for the song and the trailer for the movie. At the end of December 1998 the band recorded the CD together with their sound engineer Clemens Matznick in the Hansa studio in Berlin.
The video shoot for the title also took place in Berlin and lasted over 24 hours non-stop outdoors in freezing temperatures. The Guano Apes played between smashed televisions and furnishings thrown from a six-meter high scaffolding above them. Over 40 televisions were smashed during the shoot.
