The Don Quixote Pond is a lake in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the North Fork of the Wright Valley it is 1.7 km northeast of the Dais Col . The frozen lake consists of fresh water laid over a layer of salt water.

Its name, based on the literary figure of Don Quixote by the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes , was given by geologists at Illinois State University who studied the hydrogeology in this area between 1973 and 1976 .
