Don Ryder, Baron Ryder of Eaton Hastings
Sydney Thomas Franklin Ryder, Baron Ryder of Eaton Hastings ( September 16, 1916 - May 12, 2003 ) known as Don Ryder was a businessman and Labor peer.
Career
Ryder was Chairman of the National Enterprise Board and helped develop the Ryder Report . The Ryder Report was a restructuring plan for British Leyland during the 1970s.
In 1972 he was knighted ( Knight Bachelor ). On July 15, 1975 he was raised to the Life Peer with the title Baron Ryder of Eaton Hastings , of Eaton Hastings in the County of Oxfordshire , and was henceforth a member of the House of Lords .
