The shopping center's catchment area includes the regions of Perg , Enns , Freistadt , Grein and, from neighboring Lower Austria, St. Valentin , Haag and Strengberg . The property with around 59 shops is owned by Leonhard Helbich-Poschacher and is frequented by around 2.5 million people every year. The shopping center, which opened in 1990, was expanded in several stages to become the largest shopping center between Linz and Amstetten . The former Salzstadl is part of the Donaupark area

The settlement of the area began in 1988 with a gas station and a grocery store. From 1990 the continuous expansion followed in several stages up to the current size of 59 shops and a diverse mix of branches.

The listed former Salzstadl is also part of the Danube Park.
