In Donkey Konga is a series of music games for the Nintendo GameCube . So far, three parts have appeared in Japan and two each in Europe and the USA .
Gameplay
Donkey Konga is played with drums, so-called DK Bongos , one of which is included with the game, but which can also be purchased individually.
The player selects a piece from several - approx. 30 in Donkey Konga and Donkey Konga 2 and approx. 55 in Donkey Konga 3 - different pieces of music, including songs . The track will then be played and icons of different colors will appear on the screen. Depending on the symbols shown, the player must perform one of four different actions:
Yellow: | hit the left drum |
Red: | hit the right drum |
Pink: | hit both drums at the same time |
Blue: | clap your hands |
At the end of the piece, the program evaluates the drumming and rewards the player with virtual coins. The coins can be used to unlock additional game options such as a higher level of difficulty.

Parts lists
Each region has its own selection of pieces as the Japanese pieces are considered unsuitable for the US market. The US bill of materials has been slightly adapted for the European market.
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is a game that is also controlled with the bongo drums. The game is similar to a platform game like Super Mario . This game is about collecting as many bananas as possible with Donkey Kong. Once that is done, bosses like a giant elephant or a wild bird await the player.
