Double condenser

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A double-condenser consists of two separate condenser - lenses . They are installed individually or together as an optical component, double condenser, in a lighting system.

A condenser - whether it consists of two or just one lens - has only one partial function in an illumination system, namely to make the illumination of the object to be imaged ( slide , photo negative, etc.) even and intense. Nevertheless, condenser is often used as a synonym for lighting system.

The combination of two condenser lenses in a common tube can be found primarily in the lighting system of a magnifying device . Here both parts are usually the same plano-convex spherical lenses .

In slide projectors , the convex surface of the first lens is mostly aspherical .
