As a double bridge two consecutive historic pedestrian bridges over the Neisse in Prince Pückler Park Bad Muskau referred. In 2003 the double bridge, which was destroyed in the war, was rebuilt.
The two parts of the bridge meet on a small Neisse island, at the southern end of which there is a hydroelectric power station. To the south-east of this island is another, somewhat larger Neisse island. Both islands are located west of the German-Polish border .
history
In 1822 the English Bridge and the Double Bridge were built as simple wooden structures. In 1867 there was a new building made of solid stone. At the end of the Second World War in 1945, the double bridge was blown up.
It was only rebuilt in 2003 according to the historical model and connects the western and eastern parts of the park with each other again. It can be used by visitors to the park.
