As Doppelender or double ended are crystals refer to operations where both ends of the crystal are fully formed, that is, they may at the ends somewhere neither grown nor be canceled.

Double ends usually arise free-floating in the bedrock, but can also be attached to other crystals with the long side.

In the case of minerals , double-ended calcite and quartz crystals are known. The so-called "Herkimer diamond" is a valuable special form of the quartz double-ended.
