Doppelkopf was a German hip hop group from Hamburg . It consisted of Falk ( rap and music), Teaz (beats and music) and Bubbles (live recordings and music). The group broke up in 2002.

history

As early as 1989, Falk and Teaz had achieved a certain fame in Hamburg with their then band Sixpack . After they broke up briefly, they founded Doppelkopf in 1996. They became popular through the songs Raps vom Mond , 3D (with Samy Deluxe and Daniel Larusso ), Balance and Supa Stah (for the latter two a music video was released that was quite elaborately produced for this genre ). After the success of their album Von Abseits , which also contained the single Supa Stah based on a Buena Vista Social Club sample , they split. Falk and Teaz are also in the song word plan on the album Dangerous superficial knowledge of Eins Zwo represented, similar to 3D again with Daniel Larusso and Samy Deluxe.

style

Doppelkopf's style differs significantly from other hip-hop bands: Instead of battle rap, they produced melancholy, profound lyrics that often told their own stories influenced by fantasy or science fiction . Often used motifs are cats and queens (used synonymously for men and women), the moon , tapirs and Hong Kong (after their label Hong Kong).
