Double vortex is a term from engine construction and describes an injection process in diesel engines .

history

It was developed in the 1930s and 1934 by the company Saurer presented by the company Saurer in Arbon in Switzerland presented. Hippolyt Saurer patented this new injection system for diesel engines (double swirl combustion system).

effect

The double vortex does not have an antechamber , but the fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber, where it is swirled in two directions. As a result, considerable reductions in smoke emissions can be achieved due to optimized combustion and fuel savings .
