Dorfschmiede in Erling (in the background parish church St. Vitus)

The former village smithy in Erling , a district of the Andechs community in the Upper Bavarian district of Starnberg , was built in the first half of the 19th century. The building on Besengaßl, below the parish church of St. Vitus , is a protected monument .

The single-storey saddle roof building with side timber extension still has the equipment of the former forge . Today it serves as a museum to show a typical handicraft in a village that is now extinct almost everywhere.
