Dorothea Eimert

Dorothea Eimert (born September 22, 1944 in Masserberg , Thuringia; actually Dorothea Eimert-Brings ) is a German art historian .

Life

Her father was the composer , music theorist and music journalist Herbert Eimert (1897–1972).

Dorothea Eimert studied at the University of Cologne , where she received her doctorate in 1973. From 1974 to 1978 she was a research assistant at the Leopold Hoesch Museum in Düren, from 1978 until her retirement in 2009 she was its director and, from 1990, she was also responsible for the Düren Paper Museum .

She is the chairwoman of the Günther Peill Foundation .

Awards

In May 2011 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
