Dorothy Fay

Dorothy Fay Southworth (born April 4, 1915 in Prescott , Arizona - † November 5, 2003 in Woodland Hills , Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

Life

Fay was only active in Hollywood for three years; she was seen in almost twenty films. At first she was a female “ love interest ” in some B-Westerns , but was later used in other films in small roles. In addition to her participation in two serials , she made headlines through her marriage to the western star and singing cowboy Tex Ritter in June 1941 , which lasted until his death and from which two children (Tom and John ) emerged. After the wedding, she had given up her acting career.

In 1987 she suffered a stroke that damaged her speech center. She died in 2003 just under two months after the death of her son John.
