The dose D in surface chemistry is defined as

The unit of the dose is the Pascal second, an outdated unit is the Langmuir .

The dose is used when determining sticking coefficients : ${\displaystyle s(\theta )_{0}}$

A dose of 1 Langmuir corresponds, with an adhesion coefficient, to covering a monolayer with the corresponding adsorbent . ${\displaystyle s_{0}=1}$
