Double or Nothing is a 1936 American short film .

action

A stuntman dreams of being a star himself. In a fight scene in a saloon, he is knocked out and loses a tooth. At the dentist he is given an anesthetic. While the dentist begins to work, the stuntman dreams of starring in various scenes alongside Deanna Durbin , Mae West , Eddie Cantor , ZaSu Pitts , Charles Laughton and others. In his dreams he plays in scenes on board the Bounty , in Hawaii and other locations. Surrounded by dancers and extras, he sings and dances. When the dentist finishes, the stuntman wakes up and is ready for the next close-up.

In 1937 the film was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Short Film (Two-Reel) category.
