Downtown Line
The Downtown Line (DTL; German for "downtown line") is the fifth MRT line in Singapore . It has 34 stations and is 42 kilometers long. Commissioning took place in three phases: DTL1 (completed in 2013), DTL2 (2015) and DTL3 (2017). Some expansions are expected by 2025.
The line runs entirely in the tunnel, operation takes place automatically and without a driver. The line includes a new depot (Gali Batu Depot) behind the Bukit Panjang station (DT1). There is also a driveway to the Kim Chuan Depot , which opened in 2009, near the Kaki Bukit station (DT28), where the vehicles for the new line will be serviced together with those for the Circle Line .
