The concert hall today

The Dr. Ernst Hohner Konzerthaus is a building opened in 1960 in Trossingen, Baden-Württemberg . During the first decades it was the most important concert hall between Stuttgart and Zurich . Until today, in addition to concerts z. B. also take place theater performances, exhibitions and conferences.

In 1957 the foundation stone was laid on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Hohner . The original plan was to build a number of different music schools on the site; today's concert hall building should only be a first phase of construction. Ernst Hohner was senior at the Trossingen musical instrument company Hohner and the town's main patron. He financed a large part of the construction costs. In 1986 there was a general renovation of the concert hall.

Two concert halls and a foyer that can also be used for events are located in the building. The large concert hall, which is known among experts for its excellent room acoustics, has 800 firmly seated seats and can be expanded to 1,000 if required. A flexible stage with a variable orchestra pit is particularly suitable for classical theater and music events. Appropriate lighting and sound systems are available. In addition to the large one, there is also a small concert hall with a stage of around 20 m² and around 250 seats.
