Dr. Mario ( Japanese : ド ク タ ー マ リ オ ), stylized as D℞. Mario , is a puzzle game developed by Nintendo and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Game Boy in 1990 . The game's soundtrack was composed by Hirokazu Tanaka . In 2013, as part of the Year of Luigi, a spin-of of the game was launched for the Wii U under the name Dr. Luigi released.
