Nightly demonstration of Dragon's Breath ammunition

Dragon's Breath ( English for dragon breath ) is one in the United States offered shotguns caliber 12 are located in the cartridge propellants and flares, on zirconium based and in a manner similar to the signal and illuminating cartridges work. The range and extent of the burn-off of the mass with luminous effect should be up to 90 m. As a rule, however, significantly shorter ranges are achieved.

This cartridge should not be used in (semi-) automatic shotguns, because firstly, the recoil when firing is not always sufficient to operate the repeating mechanism, and secondly (if the repeating mechanism does work) the not completely burned-out charges pose a risk to the shooter Ejecting a case with flares still burning.

In some US states such as (California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa), ammunition is banned because of the high risk of ignition that can cause forest fires.
