Draksal Fachverlag was founded in January 1997 as a sole proprietorship. In 2009 the name was changed to a GmbH. The publisher is based in Leipzig.
The publisher is a member of the German Book Trade Association .

Scientific knowledge is difficult to understand for non-specialists and beginners due to the vocabulary used and meaningful contexts assumed to be known. Draksal Fachverlag uses fictional stylistic devices such as arc of tension, metaphors, puns and a protagonist as a figure of identification in order to prepare its non-fiction books in a generally understandable manner.
The publications of the Draksal Fachverlag are distributed as introductory works on a certain topic in academic libraries, e.g. B.
