Script excerpt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A script excerpt is the summary of a script scene or its breaking down into information relevant to the shooting . Aptly, the script excerpt is also called Scene Breakdown in English .

Script excerpts are usually prepared by the assistant director on the basis of the script before the shooting schedule is created.

function

An excerpt from the script shows:

  • at what time of day or night the scene plays (details DAY / NIGHT / twilight),
  • plays the scene in a closed room or outdoors (INT. / EXT.),
  • on which motive does the scene play and on which game day
  • how long is the scene ( pre-stop time , eighth),
  • what happens in the scene (brief summary of one or two sentences),
  • which characters appear in the scene and which and how many extras.

In addition, an excerpt from the script contains a list of the equipment, props , costumes, vehicles, animals and special effects required or appearing in the scene . It also notes special features in the areas of make-up, camera, light and production. Nowadays, script excerpts are also part of shooting schedule software, as the information they contain is incorporated into the shooting schedule . In most programs, creating excerpts from the script is a prerequisite for creating the shooting schedule.
