Rotary theater

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A revolving theater is a theater in which the auditorium revolves around individual stage segments.

As a rule, animatronic or special effects are used on the stages , as the show takes place continuously. After each scene, the circular auditorium rotates one segment further and reveals a view of the next stage.

There is only such a theater in Germany in Europa-Park Rust. In Heide-Park there is a similar theater for the “Hallo Spencer Show”, but in which the spectator seats rotate on a stage in the middle and the scenes can be seen outside as a continuous story.

A well-known European revolving theater is located in the Czech city of Český Krumlov . Built in 1958 as a primitive wooden turntable, the theater was initially closed after 30 years. In 1993 game operations were resumed. Another theater with a rotating grandstand is located in Tampere , Finland , the Pynikki Theater.
