Three-City Gymnastics Berlin-Hamburg-Leipzig
The three-city gymnastics Berlin-Hamburg-Leipzig was an important and traditional German city competition in apparatus gymnastics .
History of the urban struggle
On October 24, 1920, the St. Pauli gym on Heiligengeistfeld in Hamburg was the first venue. Leipzig was not represented in the first two competitions, as well as in the 13th meeting. In this respect, it is worth mentioning that Leipzig was in the lead for the 40th city gymnastics in April 1941 with 18 wins, 13 for Hamburg and 8 for Berlin. The venues included the Hamburg Ufa-Palast and the Hanseatic Hall , in Leipzig the Krystallpalast and the large exhibition hall and the Berlin Scala , the large theater and the winter garden . In the early days, the town struggle took place twice a year
Even after the Second World War , the traditional three-city gymnastics continued. In April 1957, the 50th edition took place in Leipzig during the Cold War with an entire Berlin gymnastics team.
