Drei Männer auf Bummelfahrt (Original title: Three Men on the Bummel , North American edition title: Three Men on Wheels ) is a humorous short story by the British writer Jerome K. Jerome , published in Great Britain in 1900 and a German translation in 1905. The book is the sequel to the successful novel Three Men in a Boat .

The story takes place at the end of the Victorian era . The main characters are, as in "Three Men in a Boat", the first-person narrator called "J." and his friends Harris and George. J. and Harris are now married. In order to recover from the stresses and strains of everyday (married) life, the three main characters undertake a longer cycle tour through Germany . The book tells about the preparations as well as about the bike tour itself. The trip leads via Hamburg , Hanover , Berlin and Dresden into the Black Forest .

Jerome again uses an associative narrative style. The bike tour and the preparations for it are only the framework story, in which numerous anecdotes are embedded, some of which are only remotely related to the actual undertaking. The stories focus on cycling and observations in Germany.
