The Dreieich Vultures are a baseball and softball club from Dreieich in Hesse .

history

The association goes back to several baseball project weeks at the Ricarda Huch School in Dreieich, which were held between 1986 and 1992. Based on this experience, Dreieich Vultures was founded in 1992. Initially founded as a pure baseball club, a women's team was reported for the first time in 1994 and is still responsible for the club's greatest successes. From 1999 to 2002 the club also hosted a cheerleading team .

Game operation

baseball

Since 1992, at least one baseball team has regularly participated in active gaming. After several promotions, the Dreieich Vultures played from 1999 to 2002 in the 2nd Bundesliga South Baseball, which they could also win in 2002. As in 2001, a promotion to the baseball league failed due to the lack of a baseball field. After the 1st team withdrew from the regional league in 2004, a new structure in the association league followed in 2005. In 2008 the first team played again in the Regionalliga Südwest.

The Vultures won the Hessen Cup in 1994 and 2001.

Softball

The softball team was founded in 1994. In the second season, the team rose from the regional league to the association league. In 2001, the promotion to the Softball Bundesliga was realized, which one belonged to from 2002 until the voluntary retirement in the Association League in 2007. In 2008 and 2009, the team was able to win the association league, but waived the right to promotion to the Bundesliga.

The softball players of the Dreieich Vultures won the only irregularly played Hessen Cup from 2000 to 2004 as well as 2007 and 2018.
