Triple representation

The "important ideas of threefold representation " ( Chinese  三个代表 , Pinyin sān gè dàibiǎo ), developed by the former Chinese statesman Jiang Zemin , are considered the political guideline of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) alongside Marxism-Leninism , Maoism and theories Deng Xiaoping . They were incorporated into the Party Statute on November 8, 2002 at the CCP's 16th Congress, and into the Constitution of the People's Republic of China in 2004 .

By "triple representation" it is meant that the Chinese Communist Party

  • the needs of developing China's advanced productive forces,
  • the direction of advancing China's advanced culture and
  • the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people

should represent.

According to official statements from the CCP, the "important ideas of triple representation" are intended to strengthen the party building of the CCP and promote the development of socialism in China. The threefold representation is the adoption and development of Marxism - Leninism , the Mao Zedong ideas and the Deng Xiaoping theories and reflects the new demands of the development and change of today's world and China on the work of the party and the state. The "triple representation" is a "complete and rich ideological system".

That the party should represent the "requirements of the development of progressive productive forces" means, among other things. a. that private entrepreneurs can now officially become members of the Chinese Communist Party.
