The Trinity Chapel is under monument protection standing nave , massive field Chapel in Oedheim .

location

The small chapel is located on Landstrasse 1088 Bad Friedrichshall - Öhringen on the south-eastern outskirts of Oedheim.

history

The origins of the structure are not precisely known. A thesis that the tower was built on the foundation walls of a Roman watchtower is supported by the construction and the location in the vicinity of other Roman finds.

The building, previously mentioned as the “tower house”, was consecrated on July 7th 1850 by the parish of Oedheim as a chapel of the Holy Trinity . After war-related damage at the end of World War II , the renovation of the building was completed in 1954. In 1955 the interior of the altar and the statues of saints were restored. The latter were stolen during a break-in in 1973 without the theft being able to be solved. The interior of the chapel has been completely renovated since then, with a simple altar installed in the choir area and a modern mural that corresponds to the modern design of the glass windows.

On the outer walls of the chapel there is a field cross from 1736, the donor of which is unknown. It was restored as part of the renovations in 1850.
