Drew Abbott

Drew Abbott (born January 13, 1947 in Detroit , Michigan , United States ) is an American guitarist.

Life

Drew Abbott was a member of the band Third Power in the late 1960s , which was under contract with Vanguard Records . After the release of the first LP Believe , it broke up. He then worked with musicians such as Curtis Mayfield and Stevie Wonder . His manager Edward "Punch" Andrews also looked after Bob Seger and established the contact between the two. Abbott joined Bob Seger & The Silver Bullett Band . The 1974 album Seven was their first album together. This was followed by Beautiful Loser in 1975 , Live Bullet and Night Moves in 1976 , Stranger in Town in 1978 , Against the Wind in 1980 , Nine Tonight in 1981 and The Distance in 1982 . Then it came to the break and Abbott left Seger and the band. In 1983 Abbott moved to Traverse City and started a family there. With TimSparling he founded the Burning Circle formation . Another project was the band Blue Highway. In 2004 he was reconciled with Seger when he asked Abbott to appear with him on his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . He currently forms the band Leo Creek with bassist Jack Dryden, drummer Roger Tarczon and pianist Tim Sparling .
