Driesch (Kaarst)

Driesch is a western district of Kaarst in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhine district of Neuss .

General

It lies between Vorst and Büttgen . The Altenpark is located in the center of the village. Until December 31, 1974, Driesch belonged to the municipality of Büttgen, which was combined with the municipality of Kaarst to form the greater municipality of Kaarst with effect from January 1, 1975 on the basis of the Düsseldorf Act .

The Büttgen-Driesch waterworks is located north of Driesch in the direction of Holzbüttgen .

regional customs

The St. Aldegundis Schützenbruderschaft Driesch organizes its traditional folk, homeland and rifle festival every second weekend in May in Driesch.

Economy and Infrastructure

Projects

Since August 2010, RWE Germany has been testing 78 street lights made of LED lighting technology in the Kaarst district of Driesch in cooperation with the city of Kaarst. The project under the name "LED sample park Driesch" was the first sample park for LED street lighting in Germany. The project cooperation between RWE and the city of Kaarst was planned for a period of approx. 18 months. The aim of the project was to collect technological knowledge and data on LED street lamps in daily use.

The next junction is Neuss / Büttgen on the A 57 . The next train station is the Büttgen stop on the S8 S-Bahn (Mönchengladbach - Hagen). In addition, the bus lines 860, 8601 and 866 go through Driesch, which connect all parts of Kaarst.
