The drinktec is the largest world trade fair for the beverage - and Liquid Food -Industrie. It takes place every four years in September on the grounds of Messe München GmbH in Munich .
The first event took place in 1951, at that time under the name "German Brewery Exhibition". Later the trade fair was called Interbrau, then drinktec-interbrau, since 2005 just drinktec. The organizer is Messe München GmbH.
The range of exhibits includes the latest technologies relating to the production, filling, packaging and marketing of all kinds of beverages through to liquid food - raw materials and logistical solutions included. The topics of beverage marketing and packaging design round off the portfolio. The target audience at drinktec are manufacturers, producers and retailers of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and liquid food (milk and liquid foods).
1,749 companies from 80 countries exhibited at drinktec 2017 from September 11 to 15. Around 76,000 visitors from 170 countries came. This means an increase in the number of visitors by 10,000 compared to the last event in 2013. 67 percent of the visitors came from abroad. With this, drinktec achieved the best result since its inception.
