The Drommedaris is the most famous building in the Dutch city of Enkhuizen .

For a long time it served as a defense gate and protected the entrance to the port. The building, which dates from 1540 , contained loopholes that could guard the harbor. The building was restored in the years: 1914–1915, 1956–1968, 1963 to 1973. In 2012 another restoration campaign began.
