Pressure device

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term pressure equipment is defined by the Pressure Equipment Directive , which introduces it as a general term for products under pressure . The term pressure equipment comes from the translation of the English term pressure equipment . According to the mentioned directive , the following products are considered to be pressure equipment:

with an internal pressure of more than 0.5 bar .

container

A container is a closed component that is designed and built to hold fluids under pressure , including directly attached parts to the device for connection to other devices. A container can have several pressure spaces.

Pipeline

Pipelines are line components intended for the passage of fluids, which are connected to one another for installation in a pressure system. Pipelines include, in particular, pipes or pipe systems , pipe fittings, equipment parts , expansion pieces , hose lines or possibly other pressure-retaining parts. Heat exchangers made from tubes for cooling or heating air are equivalent to pipelines.

Pressure equipment

Devices with an operational function that have a pressurized housing. The pressure-holding piece of equipment can be connected to other pressure devices , for example by screwing , brazing , soldering or welding . The pressure-bearing components include in particular fittings, housings of measuring devices, reference vessels / standing bottles and sight glasses .

The following examples do not count as pressure equipment:

  • Safety valves (a piece of equipment with a safety function)
  • Lid, collar, seals, flanges, bolts (components of pressure equipment).

Equipment parts with safety function

Devices designed to protect the pressure equipment if the permissible limits are exceeded. These facilities include

  • Means for immediate pressure relief such as safety valves, bursting disc , buckling rods , controlled safety devices ( CSPRS )
  • Limiting devices that either trigger correction devices or switch off or switch off and block such as pressure, temperature or fluid level switches as well as measuring and control protection devices ( SRMCR ).

module

If pressure equipment as a functional unit with the mounted pieces of equipment placed on the market are, then this assembly is subject to the Pressure Equipment Directive. For this purpose z. B. include: refrigeration systems , steam boiler systems , liquid gas tank systems , etc. The term can also include a complete power plant if the installer builds the system on a turnkey basis. Pre-assembled, ready-to-use systems are also referred to as package units .
