The Mölders steam boiler system

The term of the steam boiler system comes from the (now of the Ordinance on Industrial Safety detached) boiler regulation and includes all plant components necessary to produce steam. The steam consumers do not belong to the steam boiler system; This includes the pipelines to the steam consumers as well as heat exchangers , condensers or the steam turbine .

In Germany , according to Section 2 (4) DampfkV, the following facilities belong to the steam boiler system:

1. the boiler frame , the brickwork and the casing;

2. the equipment for the furnace ;

3. the facilities within the boiler installation room for the storage, preparation and supply of fuels and, in the case of land steam boiler systems, facilities outside the boiler installation room for the storage, preparation and supply of highly flammable and all dusty, liquid and gaseous fuels ;

4. the air preheaters , insofar as they are arranged in the flue gas flow of the furnace, and the fans for the furnace;

5. the devices for smoke evacuation including the induced draft systems and the chimney as well as in the case of steam boiler systems that are not ship steam boiler systems on seagoing ships, the systems built into the smoke evacuation system to reduce air pollution ;

6. the lockable or non-lockable feed water preheaters , provided they are arranged in the flue gas flow of the furnace, as well as the feed devices with the feed water lines leading to the steam boiler;

7. the lockable superheater and the intermediate superheater , as far as they are arranged in the flue gas flow of the furnace, as well as the steam cooler located in the boiler room ;

8. the feed water tank with degasser and the connecting lines between the steam boiler and the feed water tank as well as the feed water heating;

9. the boiler room; the boiler installation room is the space required for this in rooms that are not exclusively intended to accommodate the steam boiler and the facilities used for its operation;

10. the steam and hot water pipes and their fittings in the boiler room ;

11. Other facilities that serve to operate the steam boiler system.

The components of a steam boiler system are to be checked by the representative of an approved monitoring body (ZÜS) in accordance with Section 15 and Section 16 of the Industrial Safety Ordinance.

If the generated steam is used to drive a steam turbine with electricity generation, then the steam boiler system forms a part of the steam power plant .
