description
It was Thomas Graham, 1st Baron Lynedoch , who had the bridge built for his private use. Graham tried to avoid public roads on the way to his property. He commissioned William Henry Playfair to design the bridge, which was completed in 1832. The masonry viaduct spans a side street with a lined round arch . This is executed with an ornamented keystone . The masonry is rusticated . The bridge, which is of no importance today, closes with a cornice and a massive parapet.
