history

The village of Jämlitz-Hütte was founded in 1815 when Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau initiated the construction of a glassworks near the village of Jämlitz. In addition to the glassworks, houses were built for the workers of the glassworks, a harbor room and, in 1847, the listed tavern .

According to the topographical-statistical overview of the administrative district of Frankfurt ad O. from 1844, the Jämlitz glassworks was then part of the parish of Gablenz. In 1867, the manor to which Jämlitz-Hütte belonged at the time was owned by Prince Friedrich of Orange-Nassau . In 1895 Jämlitz hut had 242 inhabitants.

Jämlitz Hut has never been an independent municipality, but belonged to the first Gutsbezirk Jämlitz in district Sorau (Lausitz) in the administrative district of Frankfurt of the province of Brandenburg . On September 30, 1928, the manor districts were dissolved and Jämlitz-Hütte came to the Jämlitz community . After the end of the Second World War, the municipality of Jämlitz was reclassified into the Spremberg (Lausitz) district due to the dissolution of the Sorau district due to the border changes and part of the Soviet occupation zone and later the GDR . During the district reform on July 25, 1952, the village came to the Forst district in the Cottbus district . After the reunification , the district of Forst was renamed the District of Forst and finally dissolved. In the course of the Brandenburg district reform in 1993 , the municipality of Jämlitz and its districts became part of the Spree-Neisse district . On December 31, 2001, the Jämlitz community merged with the neighboring Klein Düben to form the new Jämlitz-Klein Düben community.
