history

On April 4, 1992, the mayors of 14 municipalities signed an agreement under public law for the intended formation of the Döbern-Land office. On July 14, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg gave his consent to the formation of the office. July 31, 1992 was set as the date of establishment of the office. It is based in the city of Döbern and initially consisted of 14 communities in the former districts of Forst and Spremberg (in the order in which they were named in the official gazette):

  1. Big Kölzig
  2. Klein Kölzig
  3. Dash
  4. Jerischke
  5. Mattendorf (written in the Maltendorf Official Gazette )
  6. Döbern
  7. Tschernitz
  8. Friedrichshain
  9. Wolfshain
  10. Reuthen
  11. Bohsdorf
  12. Little Loitz
  13. Klein Düben
  14. Jämlitz

In the year of its establishment (as of December 31, 1992) the Döbern-Land office had 10,985 inhabitants.

As of December 31, 2001, several parish mergers took place:

  • the communities of Jämlitz and Klein Düben merged to form the new community of Jämlitz-Klein Düben
  • the communities Groß Kölzig, Jerischke, Jocksdorf (Hornow / Simmersdorf), Klein Kölzig and Preschen merged to form the new community Neisse-Malxetal
  • the communities of Gahry, Gosda, Trebendorf and Jethe (Amt Hornow / Simmersdorf) and the community Mattendorf (Amt Döbern-Land) formed the new community Wiesengrund
  • the communities Bloischdorf (Amt Hornow / Simmersdorf) as well as Bohsdorf, Friedrichshain and Klein Loitz (Amt Döbern-Land) merged to form the new community Felixsee . The new municipality was assigned to the Döbern-Land office.

With the incorporation of the communities Graustein , Groß Luja , Lieskau and Türkendorf into the city of Spremberg, the Hornow / Simmersdorf office fell well below the number of 5,000 inhabitants required to maintain an office and was dissolved on March 5, 2003. The municipalities of Wiesengrund, Groß Schacksdorf-Simmersdorf and Hornow-Wadelsdorf, which were part of the office at the time, were assigned to the Döbern-Land office.

On October 26, 2003 Reuthen was incorporated into the municipality of Felixsee and Wolfshain in the municipality of Tschernitz by law. The enlarged Döbern-Land office now had eight municipalities.

On January 1, 2016, Hornow-Wadelsdorf was incorporated into Spremberg. Since then, seven parishes belong to the office.
