Jabhat al-Akrad , also Jabhat al-Akrad ( Kurdish Enîya Kurdan, Arabic لواء جبهة الأكراد Liwāʾ Jabhat al-Akrad , German  brigade of the Kurdish Front ) is a predominantly Kurdish rebel group in Syria and foughtalongside other organizations against the Assad regime and the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS)in the Syrian civil war . The group was formed as part of the Free Syrian Army . However, after fighting with IS in August 2013, al-Akrad became part of the Democratic Union Party because of her supposed proximity(PYD) excluded from the FSA. The group itself denied any links with the PYD. According to their own information, the group includes up to 7,000 fighters. The group is considered to be largely liberal and is mainly active in northern Syria.

In May 2015, Jabhat al-Akrād became part of the army of revolutionaries , which in turn formed the Syrian Democratic Forces military alliance with other groups in October .
