The Jamkaran Mosque (2018)

Jamkarān Mosque ( Persian مسجد جمکران Masjed-e Dschamkaran , DMG Masǧed Ǧamkarān-e ) is a twelve-Shia place of prayer in Qom .

The construction and development of the Jamkaran Mosque is based on a tradition according to which the 12th Imam , called Mahdi , appeared there after his so-called little secrecy . The Sheikh Hassan ibn Muthlih Jamkarani received a revelation in 994 after the Mahdi who appeared to him ordered a mosque to be built around the well there. Today the Jamkaran Fountain and the associated mosque are one of the largest Shiite pilgrimage sites in Iran .
