The Saudi Arabian island of Jana ( Arabic جنه Ǧanah ; English spelling Jana ) is located in the Persian Gulf , around 46 kilometers northeast of the industrial and port city of Al-Jubail . Despite the massive damage to the coastal region of Saudi Arabia during the Second Gulf War , it was once again the preferred nesting site for green turtles (Chelonia mydas) to lay eggs.
The sea around the island is a popular diving area .
