Dseraunaja ( Belarusian Дзераўная ; Russian Деревная ) is a village with about 300 inhabitants in Drahitschyn Rajon in Breszkaja Woblasz in Belarus . There are around 30 natural and artificial lakes in the vicinity of the village. The landscape of the village used to be a marshland that was drained in the 1940s. Derewnaya is 18 kilometers from Antopal and 25 kilometers from Drahichyn. There is a middle school and a cultural center in the village. The majority of the inhabitants of the village live from agriculture. In the vicinity of the village there is a memorial to the Belarusian soldiers who fell in World War II.

history

Before the First World War , the village belonged to the Polish ruler Pani Zavadska. Polish owners had created a botanical garden in Dseraunaya. In the 19th century a brewery was built in the part of the village called Karrieren. One of the largest churches in the region was built on the central Zwintar square, which was bulldozed and burned by the Bolsheviks during the Soviet era (1920). During the Second World War, the inhabitants of the village waged partisan war .

Language and residents

The inhabitants of the village speak a dialect, a hybrid between Polish , Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian. Many Ukrainians and some Russians live in the village.

The village is surrounded by forest on all sides. Several parts of the forest have their names: Panina Berezina in the west (birch plant), Sosniwka in the west-east (pine forest), Gai in the north (mixed forest). Lynx , wild boar , elk , rabbits , wolves and foxes can be found in the forest . Several small artificial lakes in the area around the village are inhabited by carp-like fish. In several lakes are only small (degenerate because of the food shortage) crucian carp to meet.

Novaje Sialo (Neudorf)

A part of the village (administrative) is a settlement Novaje Sialo in the north. Originally Nowoe Selo consisted of a few houses in the middle of the forest. Today the settlement is connected to the village of Dseraunaya by several roads and consists of about 30 houses.
