Duarte Nunes de Leão

Duarte Nunes de Leão (* around 1530 in Évora ; † 1608 in Lisbon ) was a Portuguese legal scholar and historian.

Life

Nunes de Leão was the son of João Nunes, a Jewish professor of medicine . He studied law at the University of Coimbra and wrote basic works on the Portuguese language and spelling. He worked on the King Chronicles of Alfonso I (Portugal) to Alfonso V new.
