Dub FX (* 11. June 1983 in Melbourne as Benjamin Stanford ) is an Australian beatboxer and live looping Artists.

His trademark are his performances as a street musician , where he creates complex pieces of music in real time with just his voice and effects devices .

Musical career

Stanford from the Melbourne borough of St Kilda played and sang first as a member of the band Twitch and then moved to Europe, where he began a solo career.

He advertises his music exclusively through his live performances and word of mouth in social networks as well as with some free music samples.

Stanford is one of the founders of the music label Convoyun.ltd, which in addition to its own works has also published music by the artists Flower Fairy, Sirius and Mr Woodnote, partly with the support of other artists (such as CAde, Lil Rhys, Pete Philly, Theo 'Monkey') on some pieces of music. All of the label's albums were produced by Dub FX.

The saxophonist and looper Mr Woodnote is also represented on Everythinks A Ripple . His saxophone can be heard in the tracks Flow , Supernova Pilot and Wandering Love . The pieces Flow and Love Someone are among the best known pieces by Dub FX.

In 2010 Dub FX worked with Melbourne producer Sirius; they released the album A Crossworlds . The style of A Crossworlds is strongly dubstep , which can be recognized by the emphasis on subfrequencies and the tempo between 138 and 145 bpm .

Dub FX 'lyrics deal with the more general world events and the zeitgeist, at the same time they call for individual revolution through self-determination and devotion.

On his travels and performances, Stanford was accompanied by his then fiancée Shoshana Sadia, who goes under the name Flower Fairy . The two met in Manchester and then traveled the world together to perform as street musicians. Sadia mostly sold CDs while performing. Every now and then both sang together, for example she is featured on Everythinks A Ripple in the songs Wandering Love and Time Will Tell as well as in the piece Gingerbread Man / Future .
