Dudley Adams

Dudley Adams (* 1762 ; † 1830 ) was an English instrument manufacturer in London.

His father was the Globes maker George Adams Senior (1704-72), his brother was George Adams, Jr. (1750-95). After the death of their father, the brothers continued to run the family business and became instrument makers.

In 1797, Adams designed an improved version of the forehead goggles with a metal strip around the forehead from which the lenses hung. He noted the distance between the two centers of the pupils . In his patent, the ears were first used to hold glasses. In May 1800 he patented a portable telescope . In 1813 he went bankrupt.
