Duisterwalt is a family of bell founders from Cologne.

Known family members

  • Johann Duisterwalt , main creative period 1380–1415, 14 bells preserved, 4 of them in Cologne, mark 5-leaf rosette
  • Christian Duisterwalt , son of Johann, main creative period 1400–1444, received 24 bells, 7 of them in Cologne + 2 together with
  • Gerhard Duisterwalt (1417 + 1418), his brother; but also a bell with his name from 1397 hangs in the pilgrimage church of the painful mother of God (Bödingen)
  • Sifart Duisterwalt , main creative period 1445–1465, 13 bells preserved, 7 of them in Cologne + one under the Latinized name Sybertus Duisterwald (from 1453); it has not been proven that he was Christian's son, but he used the workshop mark of the 5-leaf rosette
