Duleep Trophy 2016/17

The Duleep Trophy 2016/17 was the 55th edition of the Indian first-class cricket - competition .

prehistory

After no Duleep Trophy was held in the 2015/16 season, the format was changed for the new season. Previously, regional teams were put together by regional selection committees, while state committees now put the teams together. It was also decided to play the games with a pink cricket ball in day / night situations in order to enable this type of game to be checked for tests on the Indian subcontinent.

format

The teams play in a group against every other team. The two winners then play the winner of the competition in the final.
