Dumicket Valley

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dumicketal is a former village that was devastated for the construction of the Biggetalsperre . Dumicketal was in North Rhine-Westphalia in the middle Biggetal between Olpe and Attendorn .

The construction of the dam was decided before the Second World War , but had to be postponed for the duration of the war. The project was resumed around 1950. In 1965 the Biggetalsperre was completed, so that the damming of water could begin. The area of the former place is today on the bottom of the dam in the area of today's Dumicket Valley Bridge.
