The Duttenhofer GmbH & Co. KG is a German mail order company for photo, consumer electronics, computer, telecom and household electrical products based in Würzburg . The Group Duttenhofer Group operates six mail-order company in the wholesale and retail trade as well as branches in Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. The parent company of the group is Duttenhofer Verwaltung GmbH , which is also the personally liable partner of the operationally active Duttenhofer GmbH & Co. KG.
Company history
The Duttenhofer GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1904 as a small photo shop in downtown Würzburg. In the early 1970s, the company began its mail order business. In addition to the Duttenhofer wholesale (DGH), the end consumer mail order, known as Würzburger Fotoversand (WFV), started its activity. At the beginning of the Internet era, the photo dispatch was renamed Technikdirekt.de. In 2005 the photo shop in Würzburger Domstrasse was sold to the Metro Group and is now a Media Markt . Since then, the Duttenhofer Group has only been active in the mail order business ( B2B and B2C ), especially in e-commerce .
Duttenhofer GmbH & Co. KG is a family company . The current managing partner is Rolf Duttenhofer. Together with Marcel Tully, he is the third generation to lead the group.
Group of companies
In addition to Duttenhofer Verwaltung GmbH as the parent company, the Duttenhofer Group includes eight fully consolidated domestic subsidiaries (all based in Würzburg) and one Italian subsidiary.
Selected subsidiaries are:
- Duttenhofer GmbH & Co. KG, u. a. with the DGH wholesale branch as a full-range wholesaler for photo and entertainment electronics and with the Technikdirekt branch as the operator of online shops for consumers and commercial customers
- DexxIT GmbH & Co. KG, a special distributor for digital imaging and entertainment electronics
