Dynamic label segment
A Dynamic Label Segment ( DLS ), or Dynamic Label for short , is a digital accompanying text that - similar to the radio text in VHF radio with RDS - can be broadcast by DAB / DAB + radio stations. A maximum of 128 bytes can be transferred per label segment, resulting in up to 128 characters depending on the character set used . The individual segments are shown alternately as scrolling texts in the display of the digital radio.
Typical dynamic label content is, for example: the music title and artist currently being played, the hotline telephone number of the radio station or current short messages.
Other DAB accompanying data are: station name, electronic program guide ( EPG ), traffic information ( TPEG ) or slideshows ( SLS ).
Dynamic Label Plus
The Dynamic Label Plus ( DL Plus ) makes it possible to assign parts of a label to one of the predefined content types (e.g. artist, title, handset phone, studio email address). The text parts isolated in this way can then be processed further by a suitable digital radio - for example (for faster comprehension by the user) only the artist / title could be displayed and the remaining content of a label discarded. This also makes it possible for the user to display the previously transmitted text parts again at will - regardless of which text is meanwhile transmitted in the Dynamic Label.
Analogous to DL Plus, there is the extension Radiotext plus with a similar function in VHF broadcasting .
