E. Howard Gorges
Gorges Valley, Chogoria Route, Mount Kenya Massif
Edmund Howard Gorges , CB , DSO , (d. 1949 ) was a British brigadier general and commander of the West African Regiment from 1914 to 1916.
In October 1914 he won the battle of Jabassi against German troops under Captain Haedicke, part of the Cameroon campaign of the First World War .
The Gorges Valley on the Chogoria Route on the Mount Kenya massif was named after him.
