EBUR

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

EBUR was ARVES ' quarterly club magazine from March 1989 to December 2006 in Dutch and English . The letters formed an anagram of Rueb , the surname of the first President of FIDE , Alexander Rueb .

The chess magazine directed by Harold van der Heijden dealt primarily with studies , a sub-area of chess composition . From 2007 on, the content was incorporated into the magazine EG , which also belongs to ARVES, and EBUR was discontinued as an independent magazine. In addition to the regular 71 issues, there were also two promotional issues.

Van der Heijden later took over the chief editor of EG from John Roycroft .

The two PhD editions and the editions up to the year 2000 are offered by ARVES for free download.

useful information

  • The name "EBUR" only appeared in the December 1989 issue. The three previous editions were retrospectively named that way.
